The Cure, Radiohead, Def Leppard Make Rock Hall Class Of 2019
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced its latest round of inductees. Roxy Music, Stevie Nicks, the Zombies and others are in.

CLEVELAND — The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2019 class of inductees on Thursday. The Cure, Radiohead, Def Leppard, Roxy Music, Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks, and the Zombies will all join the museum.
The 2019 induction ceremony will be held in New York City, at the Barclay's Center on March 29. The event will later be broadcast on HBO and SiriusXM radio. The 2018 ceremony was held in Cleveland.
The 2019 class will likely ignite debate about who deserved to make the cut. Here were the nominees that didn't make it into the Rock Hall this year: Devo, Kraftwerk, LL Cool J, MC5, John Prine, Rage Against the Machine, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, and Todd Rundgren.

Twitter reacted in its typical way to the Class of 2019 announcement: boisterous vitriol divided along band-lines. Some praised the class, saying Def Leppard and The Cure richly deserved their place.
One user, aptly named Angry Dave, say this year's class was "really weak."

Another user wrote, "Disappointed @toddrundgren will not be inducted this year. After nearly 50 years of creating, producing and performing rock music, I would have thought he would have been a given for this class."
Supporters of each snubbed band voiced their displeasure and fans of inductees celebrated.
Ultimately, there's no pleasing everyone and many of the nominees will have another shot at induction in a year. Radiohead and the Zombies had both been nominated previously and earned their way into the Hall on a second ballot.
