Night Curfew Extended Through Friday In Cleveland
Cleveland's curfew has been extended through at least Friday, though restricted areas will be open during the day.

CLEVELAND — The city of Cleveland's curfew for downtown and parts of the Market District will be extended through Friday.
The restricted areas will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. from June 3-5. Curfew will then be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The city's original curfew barred office workers and volunteers from venturing downtown and into the W. 25th Street area of Ohio City due to the threat of continue protests and violent unrest.

- All residents are being asked to remain in their homes during the curfew
- Cleveland residents are allowed into and out of the restricted zone, even during restricted hours, as long as they have proper identification
Protests broke out across the U.S., including in Columbus and Cleveland, following George Floyd's death in Minneapolis. Floyd died after being arrested by Minneapolis police. Video of his arrest shows officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on Floyd's neck, while Floyd repeatedly says he "cannot breathe." Chauvin was charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter on Friday.
While much of Cleveland's protest was peaceful, some protesters began burning police cruisers and destroying city property and police fired tear gas into the crowds. Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams has vowed to bring anyone who destroyed property to justice.
