Cuyahoga County Executive Pledges $2M For PPE
County Exec. Armond Budish has pledged $2 million to buy personal protective equipment for health care workers battling the coronavirus.
CLEVELAND, OH — Cuyahoga County is setting aside $2 million to buy personal protective equipment, or PPE, to give to local health care providers battling the coronavirus outbreak. Experts say PPE is critical to help protect health care workers from catching the virus from their patients.
County Executive Armond Budish pledged the money Monday, but the county says they also still need any additional PPE donations they can get.
So far, the county says they have already given out:

- 204,430 gloves
- 7,544 N95 masks
- 81,111 surgical masks
- 2,410 sets of eye protection
- 15,963 face shields
- 9,564 gowns
- 2,303 coveralls
- 1,400 shoe covers
- 172 packages of disinfectant wipes
- 369 bottles of hand sanitizer
The county is still accepting PPE donations at their Donation Collection Center. The center is set up at 2501 Harvard Avenue in Newburgh Heights, and is open from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays.
The need for additional PPE persists. Despite County Executive Armond Budish’s $2 million pledge for additional PPE, we are still accepting donations at the Donation Collection Center at 2501 Harvard Ave. Newburgh Heights, OH 44105 from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm Monday-Friday.

Hospitals or other health care providers in need of PPE can call the county's Emergency Operations Center for support at (261) 443-5700.

The county says they've tried to compile as many resources as possible on their homepage to give residents a one-stop shop for any assistance they may need.
