Dead Body Found Near Yacht Club In Cleveland

CLEVELAND — A dive team found a body near the Olde River Yacht Club on Whiskey Island in Cleveland on Wednesday. The body has not been identified, Cleveland police said.

The dive team was searching for Alexander Febres, a 50-year-old who went missing near the club on May 15. He has not been seen since.

Cleveland police from the Second District and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office are trying to identify the body. The medical examiner is also trying to determine how the unidentified person died.

A spokesperson for the medical examiner's office told Patch they are not yet ready to release any information on the case.

Febres was seen riding his motorcycle in the club's parking lot on Friday evening. His boat and work van were found near the Olde River Yacht Club, but both were empty. Febres' family said he was last seen bar hopping in Ohio City, but he did not return to the Olde River Yacht Club.
