Decaying Dead Body Found On Booth Avenue In Cleveland

Police believe the body may have been dropped on Booth from another location.

CLEVELAND — A decomposing body was found on Booth Avenue on Wednesday night, police said. The victim may have been dead for several days based on the decay of the body.

Callers reported seeing a dead woman on Booth Avenue, near E. 86th Street at about 9:20 p.m. EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced the woman dead. Members of the Cleveland Homicide Unit and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office were called to the area.

Investigators believe the woman may have been dead for several days, based on the decomposition of her body. The woman was taken to the Medical Examiner's Office for examination. A cause of death has not yet been established, but police said there were no obvious signs of violence.

This woman will not be counted as one of Cleveland's homicides until a cause of death is determined. Police are still investigating how the woman died and how she ended up on Booth Avenue.
