Detroit-Superior Bridge Work Starts Tuesday, ODOT Says

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting Tuesday night and continuing through October.

CLEVELAND — Work on the Detroit-Superior Bridge will start on Tuesday evening, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced.

On Tuesday, July 16, at 10 p.m., crews will restrict traffic on the bridge to one lane in each direction. That setup will remain in place through mid-October.

Crews will be doing bridge deck repairs, the Ohio Department of Transportation said. The entire project will include maintenance on the driving surface, and miscellaneous repairs on and below the bridge.

Additional work on the Detroit-Superior Bridge will take place in 2020, ODOT said. Most of that works will be below the bridge and should have minimal impact on traffic.

Great Lakes Construction Company is handling the work on the bridge and is being paid $9,870,989 for it, ODOT said. The project is expected to be completed in September 2020.
