Dog Bites Cleveland Kennel Workers, Sends 2 To Hospital
Cleveland police said one of the volunteers suffered serious harm to their hand.
CLEVELAND — Two people at the Cleveland kennel were bitten by a dog on Thursday morning. One of the attacked volunteers received a serious hand injury, police said.
At 11:30 a.m., police and EMS were called to the city kennel at 9203 Detroit Avenue. Officers were told there had been an "incident" with one of the animals.
Preliminary investigation, police said, suggests a volunteer was bitten on the hand by a dog housed at the kennel. A staff member then tried to intervene and was also bitten, suffering a serious injury to the hand.

Both the volunteer and the staff member were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center.
The dog was euthanized on site.

The kennel is currently closed, police said. Crews are cleaning the property.
Police are still investigating the dog attack.
