Don't Be Alarmed! Helicopter To Inspect Avon Lake Power Lines

The chopper will fly low to inspect transmission lines around the city.

AVON LAKE, OH — A low-flying, slow-moving helicopter will circle around Avon Lake this week the city announced.

Barring inclement weather, the chopper will be inspecting Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company transmission lines throughout the city. The inspection will take place starting Wednesday and continue through Saturday.

City officials said the chopper will be flying slower than normal and possibly lower than normal and will circle around certain areas. The chopper's passengers will be looking at vegetation around and near the transmission lines.

"This is not a cause for concern," the city said on its website.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday are expected to be sunny, blue and clear, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service. There is a very slight chance of rain and storms on Wednesday evening.
