- On Saturday, 50 volunteers wrapped gifts, wrote holiday cards, and bagged school supplies for 500 families at the East Cleveland Salvation Army. Four Shaw High School alums are behind the 9th Annual Donté's Gift Express event: Donté Gibbs, Dominique Tucker, India Moore, and Seretha Etheridge. Randomly selected families across East Cleveland will be surprised with 500 gift packages at a later date as a surprise. Since its creation in 2013, Donté's Gift Express has delivered gifts to over 2,700 area families. (Cleveland 19 News)
- An hours-long standoff near the Cleveland Heights-South Euclid border ended with one person dead, according to Cleveland Heights police. The incident took place on Saturday at a home in the 4100 block of Bluestone Road near Belvoir Boulevard. 21-year-old James Mingo, who allegedly stabbed his brother, was found dead inside the home after authorities attempted to make contact; Mingo's injured brother was taken to a hospital for surgery. - Dozens of USPS mail carriers held a processional through Cleveland's Lakewood suburb on Saturday in honor of their fallen coworker. (WKYC.com)
