Drive-By Shooting In Cleveland: 1 Dead, 2 Hurt

A 23-year-old man was shot multiple times on Cleveland's west side on Monday night.

CLEVELAND — One person was killed and two others were hurt during a drive-by shooting on Cleveland's west side.

On Monday night, three people were riding in a car on W. 98th Street. As they passed under the I-90 overpass, a white SUV pulled along the driver's side and gunshots rang out.

The victims drove to W. 99th to look for help.

When police arrived, they learned that two women from the car had been driven to MetroHealth Medical Center. A 23-year-old man was found in the backseat of the car, with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

Police gave the man first aid until EMS arrived and rushed him to MetroHealth, where he was pronounced dead.

The two women taken to Metro suffered different injuries. The 22-year-old woman in the car was shot multiple times in the lower body, police said. The 18-year-old woman in the car was cut by flying glass.

The Cleveland police gang impact unit is assisting with the investigation into the shooting. No arrests have yet been made.
