Here are the top three stories in Cleveland today:

  1. An East Cleveland EMS vehicle was struck while responding to a fire call early Saturday morning. The driver of the second vehicle was treated at the scene for her injuries; she was also issued a citation for the incident. Investigators continue to search for any video from the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Superior Avenue, where the accident took place. (WKYC.com)
  2. According to the National Weather Service, a "significant and long-duration winter storm" could be heading to Ohio this week. Precipitation is likely to begin on Wednesday and Thursday; whether that comes in the form of rain or snow is still to be determined. Snowfall and rainfall predictions were not available at the time of publishing, but with Wednesday's low of 26 degrees, it's possible that rain could become snow overnight. (Cleveland Patch)
  3. The number of people experiencing homelessness has risen each year since 2015, and it's only become a larger issue amid the COVID-19 pandemic. However, these rates also vary by state, and Ohio has the 18th lowest homeless rate in the United States. In Ohio, an estimated 10,655 people — about 9.1 people for every 10,000 — are currently homeless. (24/7 Wall St. - Cleveland)
