Flash Flooding Possible In Cuyahoga County

With more thunderstorms possible Monday, flash floods could form in parts of Greater Cleveland.

CLEVELAND — A flash flood watch has been issued for Cuyahoga County on Monday.

After a soggy weekend, more rain and thunderstorms could be headed toward Greater Cleveland, the National Weather Service said. Forecasts predict rain could start Monday afternoon and continue into the evening, with 1 to 3 inches expected throughout much of Northeast Ohio.

Rain is most likely to fall between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Monday.

"Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. Monitor the forecast and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued or if flooding develops," the National Weather Service said.

A flash flood watch was issued for portions of Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania on Monday. Impacted counties include: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Sandusky, Seneca and Summit.
