Here are the top three stories in Cleveland today:
- The Cleveland Police arrested a 16-year-old boy who was wanted for attempted murder by tracking his footprints in the snow. The teenager had been chased by police in a stolen car when he crashed into a snowbank and fled on foot. The officers followed his footprints to the building in the 14900 block of St. Clair Avenue. (Cleveland 19 News)
- On Tuesday, Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb reversed a policy that required police officers to get permission from the city prosecutor's office before taking them to get mental health or drug treatment instead of the county jail. These offenders can now be taken directly to the city's Diversion Center. the policy was previously criticized by county officials and mental health experts. (cleveland.com)
- The Cleveland Browns defensive tackle, Malik McDowell, has been accused of publicly exposing himself to and attacking a sheriff's deputy in South Florida on Monday. Deputies were called after reports of a naked man walking around a Learning Center. When McDowell was confronted he became aggressive towards the deputy and attacked them. (Cleveland Patch)
