Forbes: Here’s The Richest Resident In Ohio
Forbes identified the richest person in each state. They may not come as a surprise.
Forbes analyzed the fortunes of the country’s richest people to identify each state’s wealthiest person. This is the magazine’s fifth edition of the list.
Ohio's richest resident is Les Wexner and his family, the retailer behind L Brands who is worth $4.7 billion, according to Forbes. L Brands operates both the Victoria's Secret chain and the Bath & Body Works chain.
Wexner was born near Dayton, Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University. He opened his first retail store, the Limited, in Columbus in 1963, according to his company biography. From there, he continued to open stores and acquire brands and his company now employs 80,000 people worldwide.

The net worth of the individuals on the list varies. For example, Washington is home to the world’s two richest and most recognizable billionaires; Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates, but in certain states, the richest people only had a nine-figure net worth, Forbes writes.
Ohio has six billionaire residents, according to Forbes.

Collectively, the wealthy on the Forbes list had a net worth of $875 billion, which the magazine says set a new record.
