Fractured Manhole Closes Right Lane Of I-90 In Cleveland
The lane will be closed through evening rush hour on Thursday evening, the Ohio Department of Transportation said.
CLEVELAND — The right lane of I-90 west is closed near the exit for Superior Avenue for an emergency manhole repair. The lane will be closed throughout evening rush hour for safety, the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Drivers should expect increased traffic on State Route 2 west, to I-90 west. Commuters may want to find an alternate route for Thursday night's trip home.
ODOT said the frame of the manhole is cracked, so the lid to the manhold cannot be secured. "A temporary weld would likely not hold under the traffic of the evening commute, making an immediate, thorough repair the safest option," the department said in an email. "Thank you for your patience!"
