Free Jerseys: Joe Thomas, New Brown Make Bet On NBA Finals

Two Cleveland Browns players — one retired, one new to the team — are wagering on Cavs-Warriors IV and offering free jerseys for retweets.

CLEVELAND, OH — Be careful what you Tweet. That's a lesson Damarious Randall and Joe Thomas may learn in a few weeks when the NBA Finals are settled and done.

Randall, the new Browns defensive back said, "If the Cleveland Cavaliers win the 2018 NBA finals I’ll buy everyone who retweet’s this a jersey..." on May 28. As of May 30, his message has garnered more than 734,000 retweets. It's the most retweeted message ever sent by an NFL player and it's...a lot of jerseys.

When someone balked at Randall's offer, quipping that there was a "0% chance" the 25-year-old delivers on his promise, the defensive back doubled down and Tweeted back saying, "100% chance."

One of the reasons Randall may be feeling confident is the overwhelming odds stacked against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite boasting the best player on the planet — LeBron James — the Cavs are massive underdogs against the Golden State Warriors.

There are a few obvious reasons for this — namely the loss of Kyrie Irving in the off-season and the continued health and dominance of the Warriors starting line-up (which includes two MVP winners that could not consistently beat James alone). Kevin Durant and Steph Curry are in fine form heading into the 2018 Finals.

And Randall is a Golden State fan.

Luckily, the Cavaliers are not lacking in local supporters who donned a Browns uniform.

For the sake of Thomas' checking account, let's hope Cleveland can prove Vegas odds makers wrong.

Still, should the miraculous happen...Randall could be footing the bill for the biggest shipment of jerseys ever. And that'd be almost as sweet as beating Golden State again.
