Gas Prices Climbing In Ohio

Prices jumped another 7 cents this past week. Is the increase in fuel costs impacting how much you're driving?

CLEVELAND, OH — Gas prices continue to climb in Ohio, according to travel organization AAA. The average cost for a gallon of regular has gone up from $2.28 to $2.35 over the past week. A month ago, Buckeye State residents were paying $2.24 for a gallon of regular.

The 7 cents change over the past week is one of the largest increases in the nation. It's a direct reversal of last week's 7 cent price drop, which was one of the only price drops for a gallon of regular in the nation.

"The latest EIA report shows Midwest gasoline inventories dropped 1.2 million bbl to 51.6 million bbl last week. The current inventory levels are in pace with this same period last year and are about 2 million bbl above the five-year average," AAA reports.

While prices may be spiking for most Ohioans, drivers in the Cleveland-Lorain-Elyria region are seeing a dip in the price of a gallon of regular gas. Prices have dropped from an average of $2.27 last week to $2.26 this week. While the decrease may seem marginal, it's better than a 7 cent increase.
