Here are the top three stories in Cleveland today:

  1. Greater Cleveland saw gas price hikes overnight. The prices reflect the price of oil that has reached a 14-year high. The average price of fuel has risen to $3.63 per gallon across the Cleveland area, according to the American Automobile Association. (cleveland.com)
  2. Cuyahoga County prosecutors have decided not to seek the death penalty of Tamara McLoyd who allegedly murdered an off-duty Cleveland police offer. Off-duty officer Shane Bartek was killed during a New Year's Eve carjacking. Despite eligibility for the death penalty, the prosecutor's office's capital review committee has chosen to not seek those charges against the 18-year-old. (cleveland.com)
  3. A driver crashed into an Ohio Department of Transportation snowplow in Cleveland on Wednesday night. Driver Jejuane Ross, 42, was suspected of being impaired during the crash and was subsequently arrested by Ohio State Highway Patrol. Thankfully, no serious injuries occurred during the crash.
