Gas Prices Rise Dramatically In Ohio
According to travel organization AAA, gas prices jumped nearly 18 cents in the span of one week.

CLEVELAND, OH - Gas prices in Ohio have risen dramatically over a one week span, bringing the state average for a gallon of regular gasoline up nearly 18 cents. Buckeye Staters are paying about $2.30 for a gallon of regular on average. That's up from $2.12 last week, according to travel organization AAA.
For most of 2017, Ohioans have been paying significantly less at the pump than most of the nation. The national average for a gallon of regular has consistently been higher than what Ohioans are paying, but the national average has remained steady over the past few weeks, hovering at about $2.30, while prices in Ohio have continued to rise.
AAA says national gas prices are expected to rise in the not-too-distant future because of a variety of industry developments, including summer-blend gasoline becoming available and refinery maintenance wrapping up. The national average increase 4 cents from last week, a moderate change, but one that AAA believes indicates gas prices will be steadily climbing soon.

The sudden change in gas prices might be a shock for Ohioans, though. The state had the single largest change in gas prices over a seven day span, with an 18 cent increase. Neighboring Michigan had the second largest change with an increase of 16 cents.
AAA says the Great Lakes region is seeing dramatic increases in prices at the pump because gas stations are switching from winter-blend fuel to summer-blend fuel.
