- Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb has announced the newest additions to his cabinet. The new additions will be Holly Trifiro as Chief Education Officer and Sonya Pryor-Jones as Chief of Youth and Family Success. The new appointments are part of Mayor Bibb's self-proclaimed education priority within his administration. (Spectrum News 1)
- An East Cleveland police officer has been placed on administrative leave following the discovery of a social media video. In the video, the officer is shown kicking a suspect in the back while the suspect is on the ground keeling with his arms behind his head. According to Police Chief Scott Gardner, this level of force is concerning and an investigation is currently ongoing related to the incident. (WJW FOX 8 News Cleveland)
- The Mentor Police Department has been awarded a $26,400 grant from the city of Mentor to address mental health issues faced by police officers. Mentor, a suburb of Cleveland, hopes the funds will be used to offer officers preventative care and rehabilitation related to post-traumatic stress disorder. Officers will be able to access resources through an app that will cater nutrition plans, exercise routines, and wellness videos directly to those who are seeking help. (News 5 Cleveland)
