Here are the top stories in Cleveland today:

  1. Case Western Reserve University has received a $16 million, a five-year federal grant to launch a multi-institutional research effort dedicated to understanding the relationship between substance use and HIV. The Case Western Reserve University Center for Excellence on the Impact of Substance Use on HIV will be established at the School of Medicine as a resource for researchers locally and across the country. The funding comes from the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health. (cleveland.com)
  2. A 27-year-old man was shot to death on the porch of an east side home on Sunday evening.
    At 7:50 p.m., callers reported hearing gunshots at a Svec Avenue home. When police arrived, EMS was already there, giving first aid to the 27-year-old. He had been shot multiple times and was rushed to University Hospitals, where he was later pronounced dead. (Cleveland Patch)
  3. U.S. Marshals are offering a reward for information on a "dangerous" homicide suspect in Cleveland. (Cleveland 19 News)
  4. Nineteen Cleveland bands and musicians will give back to a local teacher with a series of five shows set to take place Nov. 8-12. (cleveland.com)
  5. Cleveland has again moved up Orkin's rankings of the most rat-infested cities in the U.S. to #10. (Cleveland Patch)
