Here's How Cuyahoga County Schools Would Fare Under Kasich's Proposed Budget
55% of Ohio schools would lose money under Gov. John Kasich's proposed 2018-2019 budget. See how Cuyahoga County schools would fare.

More than half of Ohio’s 610 school districts would receive less state aid in the 2018-2019 than they are this year under Gov. John Kasich’s proposed two-year budget. State school aid would remain the same for 73 school districts, according to data released by the state.
Although some school districts would lose money, school spending is up $200 million, or about 1 percent, overall in the proposed budget.
The proposed budget reflects declining enrollment in Ohio’s public schools.

“If you’ve lost an appreciable number of students, why should we continue to pay you the same amount of money that we did previously?” Tim Keen, Kasich’s budget director, told Ohio Public Radio.
The proposal has a long way to go, and has to go through both the House and Senate. The governor’s budget must be approved by the end of the June.
