High Temperatures Expected This Weekend: Northeast Ohio Forecast

This weekend could be particularly hot for Northeast Ohioans.

CLEVELAND — The weekend will see temperatures climb into the upper 80s, with little chance of a cool down.

Temperatures will begin their steady ascent on Friday, with a projected high of 85 degrees. After a relatively cool work week, the swift shift in weather conditions may come as a shock to some Northeast Ohioans.

Saturday and Sunday won't offer much reprieve. The projected high for Saturday is 87 degrees in Cleveland, with some areas facing a possible high in the low 90s. Sunday will have another high in the mid-80s, the National Weather Service said.

There is a small chance for thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon and evening. The National Weather Service estimates a 30-percent chance of storms developing. The best chance for precipitation would be between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Rainfall is unlikely to exceed 1/10th of an inch, though if thunderstorms develop more rain could fall.

With temperatures expected to climb quickly in Northeast Ohio on Friday and Saturday, residents will want to check on neighbors who don't have air conditioning to ensure their well-being.
