The Ohio Department of Health released its updated rankings of counties based on COVID-19 cases.

CLEVELAND — Of Ohio's 88 counties, Cuyahoga County has the 30th highest spread of COVID-19 locally.

The Ohio Department of Health released its updated rankings of Ohio's 88 counties based on the highest occurrence of new COVID-19 cases. The latest rankings are based on data from Aug. 17 to Aug. 30. The rankings are based on cases per 100,000 residents.

Cuyahoga County ranked 30th among Ohio's 88 counties for highest occurrence of COVID-19 cases, the Ohio Department of Health said. During the last two weeks of August, Cuyahoga County averaged 82.7 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents.

The county had 1,021 cases during the two-week survey period.

For two consecutive weeks, Cuyahoga County has been classified as "orange" by the state's COVID-19 color-coded warning system. Previously the county had been classified as "red" for its very high spread of COVID-19 locally.
