Howard Stern Hates That The Rock Hall Inductions Are In Cleveland

During his SiriusXM talk show, the host joked that no one wanted to go to Cleveland for the ceremony, clearing the way for Bon Jovi.

CLEVELAND, OH — Howard Stern, the radio show host, has taken another shot at Cleveland this week. Stern, who will be inducting Bon Jovi into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, said the band was able to make the cut because no one wanted to go to Cleveland.

"They must have some cockamamie deal that every once in a while they'll actually shoot the celebration in Cleveland," Stern said on his SiriusXM show. "But it's the stupidest f---ing thing. It's already been explained to me, through the grapevine, that a lot of rock 'n' roll people are not even going to be in the audience — because it's in Cleveland."

Stern already expressed concern about having to fly to Cleveland. During his show with Bon Jovi, the host said he nearly backed out of introducing the band when he found out where the ceremony was being held.

"I don't want to go to Cleveland," he said, joking that he nearly called Jon and told him he'd have to get someone else when he found out where the ceremony was being held. His wife intervened and convinced him that going to Cleveland and taking part in the ceremony would be fun.

It seems in the intervening weeks, Stern has not softened on coming to the gem of Lake Erie. He has begun lobbying for all induction ceremonies to be held in either New York City or Los Angeles in the future.

The induction ceremony will be held at Public Auditorium on April 14, 2018, whether Stern likes it or not.
