Huntington Bank In Garfield Heights Robbed

There have now been 22 bank robberies in Northeast Ohio in 2017.

GARFIELD HEIGHTS, OH - The Huntington Bank at 4932 Turney Rd. in Garfield Heights was robbed on Thursday. The lone suspect hit the bank at 12:38 p.m.

Police say the suspect walked up to the teller and gave them a note demanding money. The teller handed over the cash and the suspect ran out of the bank. No injuries were reported.

Police say the suspect is a black man, standing between 5'11" and 6' tall, weighing between 200 and 230 pounds, and under 30 years of age. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black Adidas sneakers with white stripes.

This is the 22nd robbery in Northeast Ohio this year. There has also been one foiled attempt at a robbery. By comparison, there were 45 bank robberies, total, in 2015. There were 75 in 2016. If the current pace of bank robberies holds, there will be roughly 176 bank robberies in 2017.

Tips can be provided to the Garfield Heights Police Department, the Cleveland Division of the FBI or Crimestoppers. Reward money is available for information leading to the successful identification and prosecution of the individual responsible. Tips can remain anonymous.
