Here are the top 3 stories today in Cleveland:

  1. Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc. has announced a recall of packaged salads containing iceberg lettuce due to a risk of listeria contamination. The products were processed in Ohio, then distributed across the nation. Two Ohio residents have been hospitalized in connection to this outbreak, according to the CDC. The FDA encourages consumers who have purchased lettuce that is a part of this recall to stop consuming the product and discard it immediately. (Cleveland Patch)
  2. As the omicron variant of COVID-19 continues to spread, and the more widespread vaccine requirements become, local residents may be required to show proof of vaccination more often. Ohio residents have several ways of obtaining a vaccination card, such as, contacting your local health department, asking a workplace, camp, or school that has your records, and asking your doctor. 3. A 30-year-old woman has been sentenced for her involvement in a downtown hit-and-run accident last year. Keith Findley was hit by a car in downtown Cleveland in February 2021. After the collision, the person who hit Findley left the scene. Police were eventually able to find the driver, Tyana Mitchell, and this week she was sentenced to two years of probation.
