"I'll Shoot You": Social Media Post Gets Akron Man Arrested

A 34-year-old reportedly threatened to kill another person during a Facebook Live video.

AKRON, OH — A 34-year-old Akron has been charged with threatening to kill another person and threatening to hurt a police officer. Raynard Clayton was taken into custody on Feb. 8 without incident, the FBI said.

The FBI said that Clayton allegedly posted a video to Facebook Live, in which he threatened to assault and kill a person known to law enforcement. In the video, Clayton reportedly said, “I’ll shoot you point blank range, no mask......Get you and your family wrapped up. AR-15, you know what I mean.”

He then continued, saying, "…basically what I’m sayin’ to you is keep my name out your mouth fo (before) I take yo (your) life.” Clayton also allegedly said in the video, “The best type of cop is a dead cop.”

Clayton was taken into custody by the Adult Parole Authority. He was then transferred into FBI custody.

He has been officially charged with transmitting in interstate commerce a threat to injure another person and also threatening a person with physical force with the intent to hinder, delay, or prevent communication to a law enforcement officer.

Clayton will appear in U.S. Magistrate Judge Kathleen Burke's courtroom on Monday afternoon.
