NEW YORK, NY — The Cleveland Indians will not sweep the New York Yankees. The Tribe failed to put away the Evil Empire on Sunday night, losing a pitcher's duel 1-0. The series is now 2-1, favoring Cleveland.
The Yankees got a dominant outing from starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka, who went 7 innings and gave up only three hits. Tanaka struck out seven batters throughout his evening.
Taking the mound for the Tribe, and performing admirably, was Carlos Carrasco, who went 5.2 innings and also gave up only three hits. Carrasco was pulled in favor of Andrew Miller, who surrender the only run of the game. (To stay up to date on these stories, subscribe to the Patch Cleveland newsletter.
