- After decades of planning, new plans for an urban park overlooking the Cuyahoga River and the downtown skyline at Irishtown Bend are poised to shift from vision to reality. The designs are the result of a wide-ranging civic collaboration involving the City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County as well as several other agencies and nonprofit organizations. The latest iteration of the 23-acre park aligns with new plans devised by the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority to stabilize the Irishtown Bend hillside and prevent it from collapsing into the river. - A man was fatally shot after helping a stranger push his broken-down car in the Mount Pleasant area. After arriving in the 3400 block of East 121st St., the driver of the vehicle reported hearing gunshots; he ducked for cover and ran inside a nearby house. The good Samaritan who helped pushed the car was discovered in the driveway suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. (Cleveland 19 News)
- A woman drowned Friday evening at Edgewater Park's beach, according to the Coast Guard Great Lakes and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner. (cleveland.com)
- The former Kmart in Cleveland's West Park neighborhood will soon be home to a Burlington, Ross Dress For Less and Big Lots; Aldi Supermarket, Popeyes and Starbucks will also open locations in the shopping plaza, located on the corner of Lorain Avenue and W. 150th Street. (Cleveland 19 News)
