Lakewood City Council President Holding Town Hall Meetings
City Council President Sam O'Leary said he wants to model his events on the mayor's "Listening to Lakewood" series.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Lakewood City Council President Sam O'Leary will host a pair of upcoming town halls. The first session will be March 5 at the Lakewood Library Main Branch multimedia room and will be open to all. The event runs from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
“In my eight years of serving this community, these town halls are an excellent opportunity for citizens of Lakewood to engage directly with their local government and I’m excited to hear feedback from the community,” O’Leary said. “This community is full of good ideas and insights, and we make this community better every time we have these conversations.”
During the event, O'Leary will lead discussions on the city's progress and hear resident input. The City Council President said he is modeling his program on Lakewood Mayor Michael Summers' "Listening to Lakewood" sessions, informal meetings where residents can discuss whatever they'd like with the mayor.

“We recognize the fundamental importance of meeting our residents where they are, which is out and about in the community. Most people don’t have the time or the interest to come to a City Council meeting, but that doesn’t make their voice any less valuable or their input any less insightful,” O’Leary said. “Often when making a decision, we have the data, but we need the perspectives of our neighbors to make sure City policies make sense for them.”
