Michael Thompson was charged with murder after showing Cleveland police where the body was buried.

CLEVELAND — A Cleveland man has been arrested after he reportedly told police he killed a prostitute 20-years-ago and then buried her body. Investigators said the man led officers to the woman's remains this week.
Michael Thompson, 64, was charged with aggravated murder on September 24 and a warrant was issued for him. He was arrested by Cleveland Police on Thursday.
The bizarre case started to unfold on August 20. That's when Thompson allegedly called Cleveland Police to his home and told them that he'd killed a woman, a prostitute, two decades ago.

Cleveland's Homicide Unit interviewed the man and then investigators began looking into his story. Investigators began to focus on the Train Avenue and Richner Avenue area.
Then, on Monday, police were called to the Train-Richner area to dig for a buried body. Court records said Thompson instructed investigators where to dig. The FBI's Evidence Response Team, along with the county sheriff's office and medical examiner's office, assisted with the operation. The team of law enforcement found human remains at the site.
