- U.S. Marshals and Cleveland police on Wednesday arrested a man in connection with the slaying of Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson's grandson. Robert Shepard, 29, is charged with aggravated murder. Details of his arrest have not yet been released. Shepard is accused of "directing" Frank Q. Jackson to the side yard of a home where someone ultimately shot him, according to court records. (cleveland.com)
- Cleveland police officers and the SWAT Team have a home surrounded by the city's Lee-Seville neighborhood. Officers were called to the area of E. 144th Street and Cranwood Avenue early Thursday morning. As of now, no injuries have been reported. (Cleveland 19 News)
- The 16-year-old driver who pleaded guilty in connection to a chase through Cleveland that ended in a deadly crash across city lines in East Cleveland was sentenced on Wednesday. (Cleveland 19 News)
- A Cleveland police policy requiring officers to notify crime victims before sending low-level, non-violent offenders to a county diversion program unnecessarily applies a 2017 victims-rights law and is preventing people from getting the treatment they need, mental health advocates said.
