Man Dead, 14-Year-Old Wounded In Cleveland Shooting
Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Thursday morning near Prospect.
CLEVELAND — Two people were shot during an incident in downtown Cleveland on early Thursday morning, Cleveland police said. A 14-year-old was hit in the leg and a 24-year-old shot and killed during the gunfire.
At about 1:50 a.m., police were called to a car accident on E. 18th and Prospect. When officers arrived they found a gray Ford Escape crashed into a pole. Witnesses said after the car hit the pole, a group of men jumped out and ran off.
Police later learned that two people from the crash were picked up by another car and taken to St. Vincent Charity Hospital. A 14-year-old had a gunshot wound to his leg, he was treated and then taken to the juvenile detention center.

A 24-year-old was shot multiple times and succumbed to his injuries, police said.
Later that morning, at about 3 a.m. police were sent to a recording studio on Rockwell Avenue for a shooting that was possibly connected to the car crash on Prospect.

When officers arrived they spoke with a 24-year-old who was working at the recording studio. He said at about 1:30 a.m. a group of men came into the studio with guns. Gunfire was exchanged and the 24-year-old eventually hid and the group ran off.
The 24-year-old is a valid concealed carry weapon permit holder, but was taken into custody on suspicion of felonious assault shooting, police said.
A total of three guns were found by police, including one gun held by the 14-year-old, police said.
