Man Shot By Cleveland Police On Thursday Morning

According to police, officers shot a man while serving a warrant on W. 132nd Street. The wound was not life threatening.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland SWAT officers shot a man while serving a violent felony warrant, police announced on Thursday morning.

At 7:30 a.m., police went to a home on W. 132nd Street to serve the warrant. When officers arrived at the house, a man began shooting at them, police said.

A member of the SWAT unit returned fire, hitting the accused shooter in the arm. The suspect was given medical treatment until EMS arrived and took him to MetroHealth Medical Center. The man's injuries were described as non-life threatening by police.

Police then searched the home and detained five other men into custody, including the man wanted on the warrant. No officers were hurt during the incident.
