Here are the top 3 stories in Cleveland today:

  1. Just after midnight Monday at the East 131st Street Branch of the Cleveland Public Library, Justin M. Bibb was sworn in as the City of Cleveland's next mayor. He replaces Frank Jackson, who had held the position since 2006. For his first 100 days, Bibb plans to make city offices more efficient through the use of technology, as well as to add status "tracking" to issues brought to the mayor's office. 2. Last week, a 14-year-old Cleveland boy was accused of 11 charges — including attempted murder — during a Little Italy shooting and carjacking incident. He has since pleaded not guilty to all charges; there is no next court date at this time. According to Cleveland police, the teen shot the woman on Dec. 27 at Mayfield and Random Roads, then stole her car. (Cleveland 19 News)
  3. As of Monday, Center Street Bridge in the Flats will be closed for the next ten months. Construction crews will work on preserving the bridge by restoring the driving surface of the bridge and the sidewalks; they will also add new lighting. According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the estimated cost of the project is over $5 million. (Cleveland 19 News)
