Motorcycle Crash In Cleveland: 1 Dead After Accident

A man was thrown from his motorcycle and hit a passing SUV on Saturday.

CLEVELAND — A 49-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Saturday afternoon in Cleveland, police announced.

At 1 p.m., the 49-year-old was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle down Woodland Avenue. He lost control of his bike and was thrown off, possibly hitting an SUV before rolling onto the pavement, police said.

The SUV stopped briefly after the crash, but then drove away, going east down Woodland and then north on E. 55th. The driver of the SUV later contacted police and began cooperating with the investigation, a department spokesperson said.
