CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns will have new uniforms in 2020. The franchise said the revised look will be "nothing fancy," an attempt to capture the city's blue collar spirit.
Dee Haslam, one of the team's owners, said the current uniforms, which debuted in 2015, didn't quite hit "the mark." She thinks the team "got it right," this time.
Details on the new uniforms were scant, but Haslam did say that no new colors will be added to the class orange and brown scheme. She said that Nike and the Browns franchise were still tweaking the proposed 2020 designs.

When the Browns last overhauled their uniforms, in 2015, the results brought mixed reviews. The team tweaked the orange (most couldn't tell the difference), added contrast stitching on the jerseys and pants, a matte finish on the helmet, a brown facemask, the team name was added the side of the pant legs, and "Cleveland" was written across the team's chest, the Browns noted.
There were 18 jersey combinations rolled out in 2015 — three variations of the jersey and three variation of the pants. To this point, the only combination the Browns haven't worn is the all-orange outfit.

Haslam hopes that the 2020 season will bring more than new uniforms. She's hoping fans find close to universal consensus on the new uniforms "hitting the mark."
