New Year's Eve Party Turns Bloody In Cleveland, 3 Dead

A group of uninvited people showed up at a party and refused to leave. Shots then rang out and five people were hit by bullets in the melee.

CLEVELAND — Three people were killed at a New Year's Eve party in Cleveland. A group of uninvited men crashed the festivities and refused to leave, leading to an exchange of gunfire.

The shooting started before midnight, at 11:45 p.m. An apartment on Denison Avenue was rented out for New Year's Eve, through Airbnb. A group of men showed up at the party, uninvited, and were asked to leave. They refused.

Police believe that's when the shooting started. Three people were shot and killed, two others were wounded.

The suspects ran from the party and officers found no guns at the scene.

The three deceased people were all men, ages 19, 22, and 25. The men have not yet been identified.

One of the wounded people, a 23-year-old woman, was shot in the arm. She was treated at MetroHealth and then released. A 21-year-old man is still confined at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
