Nightly Closures Of I-77, I-490 Ramps Start Monday

The closures will go from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night, the Ohio Department of Transportation said.

CLEVELAND — As temperatures climb past balmy and into muggy, construction season begins to hit full stride. It is a ritual Northeast Ohioans are familiar with and have come to expect.

Starting Monday, July 8, crews will shut down two ramps on I-77 north and I-490 east as part of a bridge deck construction project. The closures will last from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.

The I-77 north ramp to I-490 west will be closed, as will the I-490 east ramp to I-77 north, the Ohio Department of Transportation said.

Drivers that usually connected to 490 west from I-77 will be able to detour along Broadway north, hitting I-490 west from there.

Motorists that usually connect to I-490 east from I-77 north will also take Broadway north, but will turn onto E. 30th (going east) and then get onto I-77 north.
