Northeast Ohio Under Winter Weather Advisory, Heavy Snow Coming Monday
Heavy snow is expected to hammer the region starting Monday night and continue falling through Wednesday evening.

CLEVELAND, OH - The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of Northeast Ohio. The advisory goes into effect at 5 p.m. on Monday and is set to expire Wednesday at 8 p.m.
The NWS says that 8-12 inches is possible in the area, with some cities getting even more snow during that time. The snow belt on the east side can expect to get even more snow than the rest of the region, for instance.
The snow is expected to start this afternoon and increase in intensity through Tuesday morning. Lake effect snow will then develop Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, the NWS says.

Winds aren't expected to reach the devastating speeds they hit last week, but could top out at 35 mph. That's enough speed to whip snow into the air and make already hazardous driving conditions more volatile. The NWS says the winds are expected to pickup on Tuesday and stay strong through Wednesday.
Temperatures will hover around the mid-20s through Wednesday.

The NWS says low pressure moving through the Ohio Valley is largely responsible for the coming snowfall. Winds coming off of Lake Erie will mix with the low pressure to increase the amount of snow slated to fall, and ensuring that Northeast Ohio and parts of Pennsylvania will be the likely recipients of the most snowfall.
