Ohio City Fire Department Gets Grant From State
The Ohio City Volunteer Fire Department got a $34,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety this week.
CLEVELAND — The Ohio City Volunteer Fire Department receive a $34,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) this week. The supplemental grant program supports purchasing equipment and training for firefighters.
“We are pleased to provide this funding to the Ohio City Volunteer Fire Department,” said Division of EMS Executive Director Mel House. “Supporting our local agencies is a priority to ensure the safety of our communities.”
The Ohio City Volunteer Fire Department received $34,281 from the ODPS' Division of Emergency Medical Services. This is the third year such grants have been awarded.

The supplemental grant program helps departments buy equipment like 12-lead heart monitors, power stretchers, personnel training and CPR assisting devices. The grant program was created to assist Ohio EMS agencies with the purchase of costly EMS equipment.
