Ohio Connections Academy Recognizes Cleveland Student
Star Student Award Recognizes Students for Achievement In and Out of the Virtual Classroom
Carter Saxon of Cleveland, was recently named one of Ohio Connections Academy’s (OCA) Star Students for the month of October in recognition of his achievements and leadership in the classroom and in his community.
Carter, an 8th grader at the statewide online public charter school, was nominated by multiple teachers who spoke of his work ethic and his willingness to help others when they are struggling. “He is a leader in class discussions and sets a positive example for others,” said Mrs. Auciello, Carter’s math teacher. As the Star Student, Carter will be presented a certificate recognizing his achievement and be profiled on the school’s newsletter and web site.
Carter enrolled in Ohio Connections Academy last year when the online school he was attending closed. He previously attended a traditional school however his mother Alene believed he needed a more flexible schedule that enabled Carter to do volunteer work and spend time with family and friends.
