Ohio Connections Academy Recognizes Cleveland Student

Star Student Award recognizes students for achievement in and out of the virtual classroom

Ta’vion Swain of Cleveland, was recently named one of Ohio Connections Academy’s (OCA) Star Students for the month of April in recognition of his academic achievements and leadership.

Ta’vion, a seventh-grade student at the statewide online public charter school, was nominated by his teacher Mr. Stanford in recognition of his hard work, leadership and respect for other. Ta’vion will be presented a certificate recognizing his achievement and be profiled in Ohio Connections Academy’s student newsletter and on the school’s website. Each month OCA recognizes two students in each of the four grade bands for their achievements in and out of the classroom.

Ta’vion enrolled in Ohio Connections Academy this year as his parents wanted their son in a learning environment that offered a more individualized approach. According to his mother Porscha, the teachers and staff have been extremely helpful during the classes and during their one-on-one phone calls. “They have motivated him to want to do better,” she said.
