Ohio Governor John Kasich Agrees to Bet With Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner

Kasich promised to deliver Cleveland fan favorites to Rauner if the Tribe loses.

COLUMBUS, OH - Governor John Kasich has agreed to a gubernatorial World Series wager. Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner posted a Facebook video Oct. 24 saying he would deliver a hand-crafted, deep dish pizza and Chicago microbrew beer to Kasich if the Cleveland Indians defeat the Chicago Cubs. Kasich accepted the bet and promised he would deliver "fan favorites from Cleveland."

It's not yet clear what "fan favorites" he'll deliver should the team lose. Hopefully, Clevelanders will never have to find out.

"I know the Indians are going to roll," Kasich said in his response video. "And they're going to roll not just for Cleveland but for people all across the Buckeye State."

The World Series begins Oct. 25 with Corey Kluber taking the mound for the Tribe and Jon Lester pitching for the Cubbies. The Indians 60 plus year drought is the longest in the American League and second in all of baseball. The longest streak of years without a championship belongs, of course, to the Chicago Cubs who have gone more than 100 years without a title.
