Ohio Has Sent 30 Million Pieces Of Protective Equipment Statewide

The vast majority of protective equipment has been sent to emergency management agencies in various counties.

COLUMBUS, OH — The Ohio government has sent nearly 30 million pieces of protective equipment statewide since the beginning of the new coronavirus pandemic. The vast majority of equipment has been sent to emergency management agencies in various counties, Gov. Mike DeWine announced.

"We are also looking at longer-term contracts for ventilators and N95 masks. And, we are currently evaluating the results of a recently issued Invitation to Bid for gloves, gowns, and three-ply masks," DeWine said.

The Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation has sent an additional 1.5 million face coverings to businesses throughout the state, to aid workforce health and safety efforts. The Ohio Mental Health Addiction Services department has also received a 90-day supply of protective equipment.
