Ohio Man Threw Chemicals At Police, Sentenced To Prison
The man was accused of lighting bottles of chemicals on fire and throwing them at police officers.
BLOOMDALE, OH — A Northwest Ohio man has been sentenced to prison for lighting bottles of chemicals on fire and throwing them at police, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Friday.
"There will be serious consequences for anyone who assaults our police officers or federal agents," U.S. Attorney Justin E. Herdman said.
According to the Department of Justice, William Milliron, 47, was being pursued by the U.S. Marshals after he committed a probation violation in Florida. The Marshals spotted him near Bowling Green and tried to pull him over, but Milliron took off.

As agents chased Milliron, he began throwing bottles at the pursuing cars, according to the DOJ. When one of the bottles hit a cruiser, it exploded on the front end and windshield of the car, court documents said.
The car chase continued through Fostoria and into Findlay. The pursuit ended when Milliron's car went off the road and crashed. Milliron was taken into custody and had 13 rounds of ammunition in his pocket, court documents said.

Law enforcement later tested the contents of the bottles Milliron was throwing at the police cruisers. Inside the bottles was a combination of chemicals commonly used to make meth, the DOJ said. Those chemicals are highly volatile and combustible and the bottles had paper wicks attached to them. The wicks were charred from being lit on fire, the DOJ added.
Milliron pleaded guilty to charges of assault of a federal officer, being a felon in possession of a firearm and assorted drug charges. He was sentenced to 110 months in federal prison.
