Ohio Republicans Fighting Civil War Over Trump Support
With less than a month to go before Election Day, unprecedented infighting in perhaps the most important swing state.

With just weeks until Election Day, a civil war has broken out among Republicans in what may be the most important swing state in the country. No Republican candidate for president has ever won without having won Ohio.
On Saturday, the Columbus Dispatch reported that Donald Trump's Ohio operation has parted ways with state Republican chairman Matt Borges.
"I spoke with Mr. Trump on Thursday and he is very disappointed in Matt's duplicity," Trump State Director Robert Paduchik said in a letter sent to members of the Ohio Republican Central Committee. "Mr. Trump told me, 'this is why people have lost faith in he establishment and party leaders.' I have to agree with him."

Paduchik goes on to say that Borges's "loyalties to Governor John Kasich's failed presidential campaign eclipse his responsibilities as Chairman of the Ohio Republican Party.
"The Chairman is also driven by an apparently insatiable need for publicity."

Paduchik's concludes by saying that Borges "has routinely exaggerated his relationship with the campaign. Chairman Borges does not represent or speak for the candidate and he longer has any affiliation with the Trump-Pence campaign."
Borges responded with his own letter to state Republican leaders, listing 10 ways that he and the state party have - and "will continue to do to support the efforts of the Trump campaign.:
Ohio is continued crucial to Republican efforts. Recent polls collected by Real Clear Politics show Hillary Clinton with a slight lead over Trump, ranging from one to four percentage points.
