Older Man Found Dead, Decomposing In Cleveland Home
The man had not been seen for weeks before officers found his body. Police said the man had been hit over the head, killing him.

CLEVELAND — After not being seen for weeks, a 67-year-old man was found dead and decomposing in his east side home this month. A blunt blow to the head killed the man, police said.
Police were asked to check on the man on Dec. 13. Officers arrived at the house in the morning and saw mail and newspapers piled up outside. Police went inside and found the man decomposing in his bedroom.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene. Police initially handled the case as a dead body report, not a murder. After investigators determined the man had died from blunt force trauma to the head, investigators changed gears.
