Play Ball Park Opens In Downtown Cleveland

CLEVELAND — The festivities surrounding MLB All-Star Week started on Friday when Cleveland officials opened Play Ball Park.

Former Cleveland Indians All-Star Carlos Baerga threw out the ceremonial first pitch before fans filed into the park. Play Ball Park boasts more than 40 attractions across 600,000 square feet, including a zip line, virtual reality batting cages, and exhibits from the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum.

Play Ball Park's features are housed both outdoors, on green space in downtown Cleveland, and indoors. Surrounding the park are food trucks and live music, making Play Ball Park an attraction for guests of all ages.

Admission is required for the indoor portions of Play Ball Park, but the outdoor features are free to the public. The area will close early on Friday and Saturday to make space for performances by Twenty One Pilots and the Killers.
